English 7 - We will finish our analysis of "The Witch" and have a test on this on Tuesday.  We will begin writing a poem - the final copy will be due on Thursday.  This is to be done solely in-class.  On Friday, we will begin Unit 11 on pronouns.  Vocabulary lesson 10 this week - quiz on Thursday.

English 8 - We will study ode and write one - the final copy will be due on Wednesday.  We will also learn to analyze a poem for rhyme and rhythm as well as literary elements.  On Friday we will begin Unit 11 on pronouns.  Vocabulary lesson 10 this week - quiz on Thursday.

Reading - We will begin our new novel this week, The Giver by Lois Lowery.  There will be several chapter and vocabulary quizzes during the week based upon our progress with the novel.

English 7 - We will continue with verbs this week working on progressive forms and perfect tenses.  There will be a quiz on the tense chart on Wednesday.  This needs to be memorized.  We will also learn irregular verb forms and will have a quiz on this on Friday.  Vocab lesson 8 this week with the quiz on Thursday.

English 8 - We will continue verbs this week working on progressive forms, perfect tenses, and future perfect tense.  Quiz on tense chart on Wednesday.   We will also learn irregular verb forms with a quiz on this on Friday and active and passive voice.  Vocab lesson 8 this week with the quiz on Thursday.

Reading - We will begin our study of Edgar Allen Poe this week.  There will be notes on his life - this will be on the test.  We will also read "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Raven".    We will have an art project on Friday - please bring colored pencils.

English 7 - We will begin studying verbs this week.  We will cover action and linking verbs, direct and indirect objects, predicate nouns and adjectives as well as past, present, and future test.  This material will be on our nine weeks test which will be next Wednesday.  We will also work on vocab lesson 7 - quiz  on Thursday.

English 8 - We will cover the first half of our unit on verbs.  The nine weeks test for this will be next week.  Please check the schedule for the day.  Red Ribbon final papers are due on Wednesday.  Vocab lesson 7 this week - quiz on Thursday.

Reading - We will read the short story "The Lottery"  and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".  Our nine weeks test will be on "Sleepy Hollow" next week.

English 7 - This week we will have a test on nouns. I have it scheduled for Tuesday; however, if it takes us longer to review, the test will be moved to Wednesday. We will also cover unit 6 in vocabulary with the quiz on Thursday. We will also begin a writing lesson. English 8 - We will continue to edit our Red Ribbon papers. There will be a test on nouns on Tuesday. Vocabulary lesson 6 quiz will be on Thursday. Reading - We will have a test on Charlotte Doyle on Tuesday. We will also have several in-class assignments with this novel this week. We will also work on plagiarism and how it avoid it.

English 7 - We will work on Unit 9 - Nouns this week. Please pay particular attention to appositives. We will also work on vocabulary lesson 5 - quiz on Thursday. English 8 - We will begin working on our Red Ribbon Week writing. Please keep up with due dates given in class. We will also work on Unit 9 - Nouns and vocabulary lesson 5 - quiz on Thursday. Reading - We hope to finish Charlotte Doyle this week. Please pay attention for vocabulary quiz dates in class. We will also have a writing assignment this week. FCS t-shirt money due by Tuesday. The cost is $10.00.

Sept. 2

English 7 - We will finish Unit 8 this week - our test will be on Friday. Our vocabulary quiz on lesson 3 will be on Thursday. English 8 - Unit 8 test on Friday. Vocabulary quiz on lesson 3 on Thursday. Reading - We will read through chapter 14. Test on Chapters 5-13 on Friday possibly next Monday. 7th Grade Parents - Students will meet this Sunday at 2:00 at Tyler Transport to work on the Homecoming Float Picture Day is this Thursday There will be a Pep Rally this Friday./

English 7 - This week we will begin our unit on prepositions. We will have a quiz each night this week. There will be a quiz tomorrow on words 1-10, Wednesday on 1-20 and so forth. Please ensure you are studying nightly. We will also study subject and object pronouns as well as conjunctions. English 8 - Same as above Reading 8 - We will read the short stories "Eleven" and "The Fan Club" comparing and contrasting these two works. We will have a test on Friday.
