English 9 - We will continue with commas and semi-colons this week. There will be a quiz on this on Friday. We will also be working on our thesis. The completed paper is due next Monday. It must be typed.

Wordly Wise lesson 12 this week. Quiz on Thursday.
English 7 - We will be working on our 'Mayor for a Day' papers this week. Your child will be making many changes to his paper and will be printing many copies. Please make sure that you also are saving the paper! In class students will be editing with me and working on adjectives. There will be a quiz on comparative and superlative adjectives this Friday.
English 8 - We will be working on correct comma usage this week. Students must know the comma rules. There will be a comma quiz this Friday.
English 9 - Students will be assigned a thesis this week. This will be due next Friday. We will also be working on correct comma usage.

English 7 - Students will begin writing about ways to improve Troy. This is for the annual Mayor for a Day contest. Please help your child to research viable topics for this assignment.
English 8 - Students will be revisiting how to outline when developing an essay. We will be writing this week. Students will also be revisiting comma rules.
English 9 - Students will be working on a major writing assignment this week. We will revisit the essay and outlining process. We will also revisit comma and punctuation rules.

English 8 - We will begin studying O'Henry. We will read "The Ransom on Red Chief" and "The Gift of the Magi" this week. Next week we will read "The Last Leaf". Our nine weeks test will be on the life of O'Henry and these three stories.
English 9 - We will have a quiz on Animal Farms chapters 4-6 on Tuesday. We will hopefully read through chapter 8 this week. Our exam will be on this novel.
