English 7 - We will finish our unit on punctuation.  We will take our exam next week on this unit.

English 8 -  We will read "The Strange Case of Lady Sannox".  This material will be tested next week on our exam

English 9 - We will read "The Cask of Amontillado".  Our exam will cover Romeo and Juliet.

May 3, 2015

All classes will have the final Wordly Wise quiz this Thursday.

English 7 - We will work on punctuation this week.  There will be a quiz on commas usage on Wednesday.

English 8 - Test on Roll of Thunder Tuesday.  This test will cover the entire novel as well as vocabulary.

English 9 - We will work on grammar this week as well as read Edgar Allen Poe's short story," The Cask of Amontillado"

April 27, 2015

There will be Wordly Wise lesson 19 this week.  Quiz will be on Thursday.

English 7 - We will finish our capitalization unit this week.  The test is on Wednesday.  We will then begin our final unit on punctuation.

English 8 - We should finish reading our novel this week.  There will be study guide and vocab quizzes as we get to those portions of the novel.  The novel test will be next week.

English 9 - Final Romeo and Juliet test on Tuesday.  We will then be preparing for Romeo and Juliet day on Thursday.  We will have a picnic lunch that day.  Ninth grade will take Wordly Wise quiz on Friday.  YOU MUST TAKE THIS FRIDAY MORNING IF YOU PLAN TO CHECK OUT FOR THE GAME!

Wordly Wise lesson 18 this week.  Quiz is on Thursday.

English 7 - We will finish our unit on subject/verb agreement.  The test will be on Wednesday.  We will then begin the unit on capitalization.

English 8 - We will continue reading Roll of Thunder.  There will be study guide and vocabulary quizzes on that this week.

English 9 - We will read through Act 3 of Romeo and Juliet this week. Vocabulary and study guide quizzes to accompany.

Even though this is a short week, we will still have Wordly Wise.  Because I will not see every class on Friday, the quiz is on Thursday as usual.

English 7 - We will finish our unit on subject-verb agreement this week.  We will review next Monday and the test will be on Tuesday.

English 8 - We will read through chapter 4 this week.  There will also be several quizzes on vocabulary and the study guide

English 9 - We will read through the end of Act II.  There will be a test on this on Thursday.  There will be a vocab quiz on section 2 on Wednesday.

March 30, 2015

All classes will have Wordly Wise lesson 16 this week.  Quizzes will be on Thursday.

English 7 - We will finalize our persuasive writing this week.  The final typed copy is due on Thursday.  We will work on subject-verb agreement this week as well.

English 8 - We will begin Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry this week.  A 2-3 paragraph report on share cropping and Jim Crow laws is due on Wednesday.

English 9 - We will continue with Romeo and Juliet.  All students should also have a copy of Night.  The first chapter must be read by next Tuesday.  

March 16-20, 2015

There will be NO Wordly Wise this week.

English 7 - Students will be working on persuasive writing.  They should be researching their topic and finding statistical and factual information to support their argument.

English 8 - Students will be SAT 10 testing this week.

English 9 - Students will finish their overview of Elizabethan and Shakespearean history.  There will be a test on this on Wednesday.  We will also read through Act I of Romeo and Juliet.
